Humanist activist speaks

The executive director of the Secular Coalition for America speaks tonight in Ashland.

Lori Lipman Brown presents the Jefferson Center's fall lecture at 7:30 p.m. in the Gresham Room of the Ashland Library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd. Admission is $10 general, but students get in for free.

Brown is a humanist activist and a former Nevada state senator, lawyer and law professor who was named civil libertarian of the year by the Southern Nevada chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union.

The Jefferson Center is an Ashland organization that promotes a science-based approach to issues.
