How low can they go? Medford airline drops L.A. fee further

Allegiant Air has dropped its one-way fare to Los Angeles International Airport to $65, the latest in a series of reductions by airlines flying from Medford.

Last week, Horizon Air announced it was cutting one-way L.A. fares to $69, matching a previous promotional fare by Allegiant.

The new prices come with strings attached. Tickets must be purchased by May 13, and travel completed by Sept. 30. Flights surrounding Memorial Day and the 4th of July are blacked out.

The fare requires seven-day advance purchase and does include taxes. A convenience fee of $13.50 per passenger is applied to online bookings and through Allegiant's call center. Purchases at any Allegiant Air airport ticket counter will not incur a convenience fee.

Baggage fees also apply.

Flights operate Monday and Friday between Medford and Los Angeles. Flights depart at 10:50 a.m., arriving in Los Angeles at 12:40 p.m. Flights leaving Los Angeles depart at 8:15 a.m., arriving in Medford at 10:10 a.m.
