Hotel request heads to city

A plan by the Rogue Valley Manor's parent company to build a second hotel off Ellendale Drive in southeast Medford goes to the city's Planning Commission tonight.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 411 W. Eighth St. It's open to the public.

Pacific Retirement Services, which operates Rogue Valley Manor retirement complex, recently built a Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel off south of Barnett Road, near Medford's new south freeway interchange. It also plans an office building at the site.

Now it has announced it also would like to build a Hilton Garden Inn hotel. The change to the plan would require the city to give its OK to increased traffic on Ellendale.
