Horizon cuts Los Angeles flight for winter

Horizon Air will cut service and adjust routes in eight cities, including Medford, it announced today.

Starting Dec. 18, Horizon will reduce the number of Medford-to-Los Angeles nonstop trips from two daily to one, dropping its 12:10 p.m. departure, to reflect an expected reduction in demand during the winter. A 7 a.m. flight remains.

The second flight to between the Rogue Valley and Los Angeles International will return March 31 and depart at 3:25 p.m., spacing it out from the 7 a.m. flight. The return flights will depart Los Angeles at 10:50 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.

Starting March 31, flights between Medford and Portland will be adjusted to better accommodate same-day business trips originating in either city. The first of four daily round-trips from Portland will shift from 10:45 a.m. to 8:10 a.m., while the second flight from Medford to Portland will take off at 9:40 a.m. instead of 11:35 a.m.

Flight times and routes are also being adjusted in Redmond; Boise, Idaho; Flagstaff, Ariz; Santa Rosa, Calif.; Tri-Cities, Wash.; Wenatchee, Wash.; and Yakima, Wash.
