Holiday services abound tonight

It's Christmas Eve, and a number of churches are planning special services in observance of the holiday.

Here's a list of services, all free and open to the community:

A service that includes a Christmas pageant and carol sing begins at 4:10 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Fifth and Oakdale streets, Medford. Details: 541-773-3111 or

Candlelight services are set at 5 and 7 p.m. at Jacksonville Presbyterian Church, 425 Middle St., Jacksonville. Details: 541-899-1287.

Services include a children's Mass, 5 p.m.; a bilingual Mass, 7 p.m. and a midnight Mass at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, 987 Hillview Drive, Ashland.

A candlelight service is at 6 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1773 S. Columbus Ave., Medford. Details: 541-776-3828.

A family-friendly candlelight service is at 6:30 p.m. and a traditional candlelight service is at 9 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2617 Barnett Road, Medford. Details: 541-773-3594.

A musical celebration with traditional and contemporary songs is planned at Ashland Christian Fellowship's auditorium at 50 W. Hersey St. Details: 541-482-8539 or

A service is set at 6:30 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, 1974 E. McAndrews Road, Medford. Details: 541-779-7777 or

A holiday service is set at 7 p.m. at Eastwood Baptist church, 675 N. Keeneway Drive, Medford. Details: 541-779-7831 or

A holiday service is set at 7 p.m. at Medford First Christian Church, 1900 Crater Lake Ave., Medford. Details: 541-772-8030 or

Candlelight services are set at 7 and 11 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2000 Oakwood Drive, Medford. Details: 541-773-8274 or

A non-denominational candlelight service is set from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at the Ashland Springs Hotel, 212 E. Main St. The observance will include a community singalong and music of the season by Heather Hutton and Richard Williams. A message for the evening will be offered by Neal Donald Walsh.
