TAKE A SCAN: Grocery customers can support hunger relief efforts in Jackson County with the "Take a Scan Against Hunger" campaign.

At participating stores, customers pull off a $1, $5 or $10 bar-coded coupon from the display rack and present it to the cashier. The coupons are scanned and the amount is added to the customer's bill. Coupons may be reused.

The grocery stores send 100 percent of the donated money to ACCESS Inc., where it helps support 24 emergency food pantries.
