Grange business grows, so dividends will as well

CENTRAL POINT — Grange Co-op said it will pass out a record $967,540 in credits and dividends to patrons who made more than $500 of purchases during 2008. Dividend checks will be mailed out this month.

Grange Co-op said its 2008 sales increased $3.4 million, or 6.3 percent, to $57,648,638.

The Grange pays dividends to members and to non-members who spend at least $500 annually.

Typically 20 percent of non-member dividends are paid in cash and 80 percent are paid in equity credits. Members, full and part-time farmers and ranchers, typically receive 30 percent of the dividend in cash and 70 percent in equity credits.

Grange Co-op added more than 2,694 new dividend patrons in 2008. The co-op is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
