AFTER BLACK FRIDAY morn, you'll be ready for a glass of wine, trust us. HOPE Equestrian Center will hold its annual Wine, Dine and Shop from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Voorhies Mansion at Eden Valley Orchards, 2310 Voorhies Road, Medford. LOCAL WINERIES offer a safe haven from Black Friday this weekend. The Bear Creek Boutique wineries — 2Hawk, Pebblestone, StoneRiver, Aurora, Trium, Dana Campbell, Grizzly Peak and Weisinger — will be pouring today, as will Ledger David Cellars in Central Point.

MAGICAL MOMENTS AWAIT: Magical Michael will perform magic shows at 1:30 and 3 p.m. at Northwest Nature Shop's annual Holiday Open House at 154 Oak St., Ashland. The open house runs from noon to 4 p.m. Events will also include face painting, wine tasting (for adults, of course), Rogue Creamery cheeses and sweet samples from Cary's of Oregon. ASHLAND'S FESTIVAL OF LIGHT turns downtown into a magical wonderland with more than a million lights. Live music begins on the Plaza at 1 p.m. The annual parade begins at 5 p.m. at the Ashland library and winds its way down to the Plaza, where Santa flips the switch on Alex's balcony for the Grand Illumination. Santa will hear gift wishes from children and pose for photographs at the Black Swan Theatre until 8 p.m.

IT'S CIVIL WAR this afternoon as the Ducks and Beavers hash it out on the gridiron at Autzen Stadium. It's being televised on Fox Sports 1 and can be heard on the radio at KCMX (880-AM) and WOLF (105.1FM). You can be sure local bars will be airing it, too, if you want some company.

MEDFORD'S WINTER LIGHTS FESTIVAL'S annual tree-lighting ceremony will start at 6 p.m. at Pear Blossom Park in The Commons along Fourth and Sixth streets. Everyone is welcome. A candy-cane hunt will start at 4:30 p.m. at Pear Blossom Park for ages 1 to 12.

JACKSONVILLE'S TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY will kick off Jacksonville's Victorian Christmas, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the corner of Third and California streets, Jacksonville. The ceremony will include live music by the Rogue Valley Symphony Brass Quintet, caroling and an appearance by Father Christmas. Downtown businesses will be open until 7 p.m.

BAGPIPES WILL BE HOWLING their beautiful music as The Roots Academy and Rogue World Ensemble will hold a bagpipe and hurdy gurdy festival beginning with a bagpipe jam at 7 p.m. at the Headwaters building, 84 Fourth St., Ashland. Following the jam will be a family storytelling at 7:30, and a concert of music through the ages at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 or $15 for students. See
