Frost advisory in effect Friday morning

Get your plants ready.

A frost advisory has been issued for 3 to 8 a.m. Friday for Jackson and Josephine counties, the National Weather Service reported.

Temperatures in the Rogue Valley are expected to dip into the early 30s Friday because of a weak temperature inversion about 2,000 feet above the ground. Frost advisories mean sensitive outdoor plants could be affected if left uncovered.

Weather officials do expect temperatures to warm back up later in the day, with a high of about 70 degrees.
