Fourth of July celebration moves to Fairgrounds

The third Annual "Red, White & Boom" 4th of July celebration will be held Lithia Motors Amphitheater at the Jackson County Fairgrounds and Expo Park in Central Point.

The gates open at 4:30 p.m. with fireworks beginning at dusk. Seating and parking is on a first come, first served basis so attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

All activities are free, with food and drinks available at the concessions for a charge.

Events at this year's event include live music from three bands, kids' games, food and refreshments including a beer garden, special patriotic presentations and more.

There will also be a jet flyover leading up to big fireworks display at dusk.

To celebrate Independence Day, a special video on the history of the "Star Spangled Banner" will be projected on a giant concert screen, and singer Sheri Parker, who once appeared on Nashville Network's "Be A Star," will perform the National Anthem. The presentation of colors will be done by the Young Marines; Medford mayor Gary Wheeler and Central Point mayor Hank Williams will also speak during the event.
