Former Medford man taken off life support, dies from snowboarding head injuries

A 22-year-old former Medford man died Friday in an Arizona hospital from head injuries suffered in a snowboarding accident Jan. 9 in Flagstaff.

Following Branson Holm's wishes not to be left on life support, family members removed him from machines keeping him alive but in a coma since his accident, according to family members.

Family members announced Holm's death in a Facebook posting over the weekend.

Holm was a 2007 graduate of South Medford High School and most recently a manager of a Dutch Bros. coffee stand in Phoenix, Ariz.

He suffered a serious head injury when he landed on his head while attempting to do a back flip on his snowboard, family members have said.
