Firearms, ammunition stolen from Central Point home still missing

About $35,000 worth of firearms, ammunition, reloading equipment and tools stolen from a home in the 2900 block of Ross Lane in Central Point Oct. 14 are still missing, according to a news release.

New owners to the property saw several boxes on the lawn when they arrived and found several pieces of equipment and ammunition had been taken from a shop on the site.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Brian Johnson, 48, of Medford, who returned to the property Oct. 15 following the burglary and was inside the shop building. Some property from the shop was found in his Toyota pickup's bed. He was arrested and booked in the Jackson County Jail on first-degree theft, first-degree burglary, methamphetamine possession and felony possession of firearm charges. He is held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

None of the equipment stolen in the first burglary has been recovered yet. Anyone with information regarding the burglary should call the Sheriff's Office tip line at 541-774-8333.
