Festival throws open the doors

Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and some free entertainment as well during an open house today.

It's set from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival theaters in Ashland. Visitors are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for Ashland Emergency Food Bank.

The event will include tours through production areas of the festival, including the costume, scenic, properties and paint shops.

Company members will provide entertainment programs on the Courtyard Stage and fans of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" will have an opportunity to learn the Fairies Dance from a cast member. A dress-up booth and a photo booth for children will be available in the Allen Pavilion courtyard.

The information booth on the bricks will provide tour times, campus maps and an entertainment schedule.
