Ex-official enters insanity plea in missing records case

KLAMATH FALLS — The former director of the Klamath County veterans service office has pleaded guilty by reason of insanity to five counts of tampering with public records.

Prosecutors say 48-year-old Isabel Rodriguez won't have to serve jail time.

She was arrested in January 2007 after missing Klamath County Veterans Services files with personal information about local veterans were found at her home.

Court papers show that Rodriquez was suffering from mental disease at the time but has recovered.
