Eagle Point schools settle with insurer on school replacement

Nearly six years after a fire destroyed Eagle Point Middle School, the school district and its insurance company have settled a lawsuit over how much the company should pay for the replacement of the building.

Details of the settlement between the district and Great American Insurance Co. of New York were not immediately available.

The district filed the lawsuit two years ago after it and Great American failed to agree on an amount.

The Eagle Point School Board is expected to sign off on the settlement at a 5 p.m. meeting today at the district central office 11 N. Royal Ave. in Eagle Point.
