Eagle Point school employees will strike

The Eagle Point schools employee union has voted to go on strike, rejecting the school district's latest employment contract offer.

Directly after the vote at just before 7 p.m., the union bargaining team resumed a mediation session with the administration that would continue throughout the evening.

Under contract, the union must give the district 10 days' notice before striking.

The union of about 400 employees includes both teachers and support staff.
