Dudley raises more money in governor's race

Republican Chris Dudley has increased his fundraising lead over Democrat John Kitzhaber in the race for governor of Oregon.

Since the primary election in May, Dudley has raised three times as much money as Kitzhaber. That's allowed him to run TV ads that Kitzhaber hasn't matched.

In all, Dudley has raised $2.6 million, and Kitzhaber $1.8 million.

Dudley, a financial adviser, is raising large amounts of money from Oregon business leaders. Kitzhaber, a doctor, is getting significant contributions from the health care industry.

In the last race for governor, Republican Ron Saxton raised a record $7 million for the general election but lost to Democrat Ted Kulongoski.
