Drop, cover and hold on!

Today is The Great Oregon ShakeOut, the largest earthquake drill in Oregon history.

Emergency agencies, schools and other organizations have provided training and will test participants' knowledge in an effort to make sure people know what to do in case of an earthquake.

Organizers have compiled information about surviving the shaking (that's where the "drop, cover and hold on" advice comes in), how to assess risk before and after a quake, and how to prepare for the aftermath, when infrastructure likely will be damaged. All the resources can be found at www.shakeout.org/oregon.
