Crosswalk sting planned

Medford police will conduct a targeted pedestrian enforcement operation noon to 2 p.m. Monday, June 4, at the corner of East Main and Bartlett streets.

The operation will focus on drivers failing to yield the right of way to pedestrians on the crosswalk.

Violators will be stopped and cited for a failure to stop and for failure to remain stopped for pedestrians or passing a vehicle that has stopped for them. Both violations carry a fine of $260.

Oregon laws require drivers to stop and remain stopped at marked and unmarked crosswalks for pedestrians.

For more information on the operation, contact Medford police at 541-774-2250.
