Crime party benefits animals

They're raising money for another cause over in Grants Pass tonight, when several organizations host a dinner and "CSI"-style crime solving event to raise money for Wildlife Images.

It's from 6 to 10 p.m. at Club Northwest, 2160 N.W. Vine St., Grants Pass. Club Northwest's KidZone is hosting a simultaneous event for kids.

The evening, organized by Club Northwest, Home Valley Bank and Wildlife Images, will raise money for the Small Mammal Center at Wildlife Images, an animal rehabilitation center. Wildlife Images will receive all proceeds.

In the "CSI"-style event, actors from around the valley will play the parts of suspects and witnesses in a supposed crime.

Ken Goddard of Ashland's U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Forensics Laboratory, a consultant to the "CSI" television series, and Wildlife Images' Dave Siddon, will oversee the event.

Winners will be allowed to go with Wildlife Images' experts when a rehabilitated animal is released.

The evening also will include music by Broadway Phil & The Shouters and a tri-tip barbecue dinner.

The KidZone party includes food, games, prizes and visiting animals from Wildlife Images.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are $35 per person ($10 for children) and available at Wildlife Images, Club Northwest and all Home Valley Bank locations. Tickets are also available online at
