Crater students return to building after smoke scare

12:20 p.m. update: Fire officials have cleared part of the school, and students are back inside.

11:25 a.m. update: Students at Crater High School remain outside the school as police and fire officials investigate smoke in the building.

The Central Point school was evacuated just after 11 a.m. after a smoky smell was reported inside the building.

Brush piles burning near the school are complicating the search for the origin of the smell, officials said.
