County commissioner hosts town hall meetings

Jackson County Commissioner chairman Don Skundrick will hold a series of town hall-style meetings with residents throughout Jackson County, including rural areas, starting at 6:30 p.m Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the Shady Cove library, 22477 Highway 62.

At the meetings, residents can discuss issues important to them with Commissioner Skundrick.

"Jackson County government really does care about all of our residents, from the cities to smaller towns and rural areas. We run best when there is good communication between government and our residents, and this is one way we can strengthen that relationship. I am really looking forward to listening and finding out what's important to people," Skundrick said in a written statement. "I want to hear about issues important to all areas of the county, from animal control to salaries and what the county does for residents. I may not have all the answers, but I will take names and get back to everyone asking. I hope people come with great questions.

Additional meetings are planned about once a month at locations around Jackson County. The next is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Gold Hill library.
