Cooling fans needed for at-risk residents

The Salvation Army is seeking donations of fans to distribute to low-income local residents who are especially vulnerable to the heat. Residents with heat-related health risks include senior citizens, disabled individuals, those with illnesses and families with infants. Since the beginning of July, the Salvation Army has provided 101 fans to low-income Jackson County residents.

Used or new fans may be dropped off at the organization's thrift store at 922 N. Central Ave., Medford or at the church office at 304 Beatty St. in Medford.

Cash donations for purchasing fans may be mailed to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 757, Medford, 97501. For more information, call 541-773-6965.
