Conservation district offers seminar for horse owners

Jackson Soil and Water Conservation District is conducting a seminar for horse owners to help them control the effects of horses on their land.

The annual "Horse Cents" seminar will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 at the district's office, 573 Parsons Drive, Medford. The class will last about four hours and snacks will be served, organizers said.

The course costs $6 for those who are enrolled in the Smart Horse program, a comprehensive management program that helps protect soil and water quality and improve horse health, and $8 for other horse owners.
