Concerts for the cash-strapped

It’s summertime and the music is free.

The Ashland City Band will play an hour-long concert at 7 p.m. today at the band shell in Lithia Park. The show will feature show tunes, marches, classic standards and original works arranged for bands.

The Siskiyou Saxophone Orchestra opens the show at 6 p.m. with a free recital. Bring a blanket or lawn chair.

For some more saxophone sounds hear a free recital by the Siskiyou Saxophone Faculty this afternoon. The group plays at 3 p.m. today at Jacksonville Elementary School, 655 Hueners Lane, Jacksonville, as part of the 2007 Britt Music Recitals series.
