Community Thanksgiving meals

Community Thanksgiving meals will be offered on the following days:


The Medford Gospel Mission, 125 W. Jackson St., Medford, will hold its annual Thanksgiving Dinner and celebration today. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. with a Thanksgiving chapel service, followed by a full-course turkey dinner at 12:30 p.m. Call 779-1597.


Grants Pass Community Center, formerly known as The Vitality Center, at the corner of Fourth and L streets, in Grants Pass, will offer a free Thanksgiving Day Feast, along with music by two live bands. Doors open at noon. The buffet line opens at 1 p.m. The holiday menu includes turkey with dressing, gravy, ham, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salads and desserts. Music will be provided by Tom Mendez and Friends, Buck's lively dance band and guest Bill Jacoby. Reservations are required. Call 474-2202.

A community Thanksgiving potluck and jamboree will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lithia Park's Gazebo and Bandshell in Ashland. Participants are encouraged to bring what they can: meats, vegetable dishes, desserts, refreshments, musical instruments, or chairs. For more information, contact Crystal at 482-8305.


On Saturday there will be a Thanksgiving Holiday Meal and Giveaway at the Kids Unlimited building, 521 N. Riverside, Ave., Medford. The giveaway, with free clothing, shoes, furniture, haircuts and miscellaneous donated items, begins at 11 a.m. The holiday meal begins at noon.
