Club-toting men knock on door, demand cash

Medford police are searching for two men who reportedly barged into a Roberts Road apartment with a club and demanded cash from three women there.

The home-invasion robbery at an apartment in the 2100 block of Roberts Road, Medford, was reported at about 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Medford police Lt. Tim Doney said. The 46-year-old woman who lived there was home with her sister, 45, and mother, 63, when someone knocked on the door.

The resident told police that when she opened the door, a man with a club grabbed her by the throat and demanded cash. Then a second man, with a ski mask on, pushed his way into the home and confronted the other women, Doney said.

One of the women screamed and the men fled, Doney said. They didn't take anything.

The first robber was described as a white man in his 30s with blond or strawberry blond, medium-length hair, a goatee and mustache. He was about 6 feet tall and weighed around 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark jacket and a beanie, police said.

The second suspect was described as a Hispanic man about 6 feet tall with a medium build, estimated to weigh about 180 pounds. The ski mask covered his face so only his eyes were visible, police said.

The woman who answered the door suffered minor injuries, but didn't need medical attention, Doney said.

The two suspects were last seen running past Joe's Sports Bar & Grill, down the street from the apartment complex.

Police ask anyone with information about this case to call Detective Justin Ivins at 774-2234.
