Clinic appoints new chief executive officer

Medford Medical Clinic has announced the appointment of Edward B. Miles as chief executive officer. Miles was chosen following an almost yearlong national search.

"We celebrate his arrival in our desire to secure MMC's position as the premiere clinic in Southern Oregon," Dr. Paul Matz, an owner of the clinic, said in a press release.

Most recently, Miles served as senior vice president/chief operating officer of Memorial Physicians at Yakima Valley (Wash.) Memorial Hospital. In addition to his duties as chief operating officer, Miles also was an assistant vice president of the Physician Practice Division of Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital and has been an active member in the Medical Group Management Association for several years.

As chief operating officer at Yakima Valley, his responsibilities ranged from the overall management of the clinical operations of the hospital-owned medical practices to helping set the strategy for physician practices. He also provided operational support for independent clinics and physician practices in the Yakima Valley requiring recruiting assistance from Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Miles received his bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho, and then received his master of arts degree in organizational leadership from Chapman University in Orange, Calif.

Medford Medical Clinic was established in 2000 by a small group of physicians. It has grown to 29 providers, 190 employees, and provides primary care, urgent care, endocrinology, neurology, imaging and lab services. To learn more about Medford Medical Clinic, visit
