Celebrate Mozart's birthday with the symphony

Mozart was born Jan. 27, 1756, and Rogue Valley Symphony pays tribute to the composer tonight through Sunday with two of his works, the Clarinet Concerto and his final symphony, No. 41 (nicknamed the Jupiter Symphony).

Guest artist is Jon Manasse, principal clarinetist for the American Ballet Theater Orchestra and the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, both in New York.

Tonight's concert begins at 7:30 in the Music Recital Hall at Southern Oregon University, Ashland. Then catch the performance at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater, Medford; and 3 p.m. Sunday in the Grants Pass Performing Arts Center. Tickets range from $23 to $40 and may be purchased at www.rvsymphony.org or by calling 541-552-6398.
