CASA works to make holidays a bit brighter

CASA for Kids Giving Trees have been set up at locations across Medford to make sure children in the Court Appointed Special Advocates program will get a toy at Christmas.

CASA volunteers provide emotional support for children who have been removed from abusive or neglectful homes. Community members can go to these locations and pick out a paper ornament from the Giving Tree that contains a child's name, age and wish, and then buy the gift. New unwrapped gifts with the paper ornament taped on them can be dropped off at the CASA offices at 613 Market St., Medford, at any of the Giving Tree locations, or at any Dutch Bros. coffee location. Customers will receive double punches.

The trees will be available through Dec. 6 at Lithia Toyota, 1420 N. Riverside Ave., Lithia Honda, 700 N. Central Ave., Lithia Dodge, 4540 Crater Lake Highway, LaStrada and Papillion Rouge boutiques, 970 N. Phoenix Road, and Salon Avalon, 790 W. Stewart Ave., all in Medford.

CASA will collect all the gifts and distribute them to the CASA advocates at a holiday open house on Dec. 15 at the CASA offices.

CASA children living in a foster home may be in a home with up to 6-8 other children. The CASA volunteers also provide gifts for those children. For more information, call 734-2272 or go to
