Burning near Rogue River, Lost Creek Lake will cause smoke

Government crews plan to burn brush and other fuels near Rogue River and Lost Creek Lake today, and smoke will be visible in much of the Rogue Valley as a result.

A post on an Oregon Department of Forestry blog said the federal Bureau of Land Management will burn 25 acres near Rogue River starting at around noon and about 100 acres near Lost Creek Lake starting at around 11 a.m.

The Rogue River project is about five miles northwest of the town on the right fork of Fielder Creek, in the same area where the agency burned brush Sunday and Monday.

The Lost Creek Lake project is on the north shore of the reservoir.
