Break for history in Jacksonville

The Southern Oregon Historical Society opens its historic C.C. Beekman House in Jacksonville for spring break tours.

Located at California and Laurelwood streets, the house will be open for guided tours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Sunday. Admission is free to society members, $5 for non-members.

The Beekman House was built 150 years ago by Jacksonville's Wells Fargo agent, C.C. Beekman, during the city's gold rush. He established Oregon's first bank in Jacksonville. The house was left to SOHS by Beekman's children and includes furnishings, art and personal items. See for details.
