Battle of Iwo Jima veteran speaks

World War II veteran Murph Rosenstein, who served at the Battle of Iwo Jima, will talk next week at the Medford library about the battle that historians have called the "bloodiest of the war."

His reflections will be shared at a presentation from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Medford library, 205 S. Central Ave.Rosenstein served with the 4th U.S. Marine Corps Division from 1942 to 1946 and was a participant in the famous battle that took place on February 19, 1945.

The presentation, which is part of a lecture series presented by the Friends of the Medford Library, also will include a 40-minute History Channel film featuring footage taken by Marine Corps photographers, an open discussion and a display of personal memorabilia brought back from the battle. Light refreshments will be served.
