Bradley William Monical

Bank robbery charges add 10 years to escapee's prison term

The man who escaped from the Jackson County Jail in November 2012 was sentenced today to 10 years in prison for robbery charges that landed him in jail here to begin with.

Bradley William Monical, 43, pleaded no contest to four counts of second-degree robbery; then Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Kelly W. Ravassipour sentenced him to the prison term.

The charges stem from Monical's Dec. 16, 2010, robbery of PremierWest Bank in Ashland.

Ravassipour also ordered Monical to pay $2,661 in restitution and tacked on three years of post-prison supervision.

The 10-year prison sentence was ordered to run consecutively with a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence Monical received in January for escaping from Jackson County Jail and a 22-year sentence he received for robbing a Sterling Savings Bank in downtown Coos Bay in April 2011.
