Ashland talks deer, dogs

It's deer today or dogs tonight in Ashland, where the city has organized two forums to discuss how residents interact with pets and wildlife.

Mayor John Stromberg organized a meeting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ashland Civic Center, 1175 E. Main St.,for residents to meet with state wildlife managers to discuss deer and other wildlife in town.

The Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission has set a meeting at 7 p.m. in Pioneer Hall, 73 Winburn Way, across from Lithia Park, to discuss conflicts between people who want dogs in parks and those who don't.

Dogs are not allowed now in Lithia Park or neighborhood parks, but they are OK at the city dog parks and in many other areas.
