Ashland scouts gear up to recycle holiday trees

The Ashland Boy Scout Troop 112 will hold its 26th annual Christmas Tree-cycling Day on Saturday, Jan. 7. Those interested in having their Christmas trees taken away for recycling should have them on the curb in front of the house for pickup by Friday evening, Jan. 6.

Troop 112 and the Ashland Lions Club will collect the trees, which will then be chipped by the Ashland Parks Department crew and used as mulch in city parks. Donations for this service will be accepted and checks should be made out to Troop 112.

This service is for Ashland residents only. If your tree is missed, call 541-488-0178.

For more information, call Scoutmaster Jeff Jones at 541-488-0178.
