Ashland library hosts forensics program

The United States Fish and Wildlife Forensics Lab will present a program on from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Forensics Laboratory in Ashland is the only lab in the world dedicated to crimes against wildlife. The forensics laboratory is very much like a typical police lab, except the victim is an animal. Using a wide range of scientific procedures and instruments, evidence is examined, identified, and compared in the attempt to link suspect, victim, and crime scene with physical evidence.

This free program will feature specimens from the lab and stories about actual cases. Meet scientists who work at the lab, and see how they solve crimes.
