Ashland Independent Film Festival to receive $10,000 in grant funding

The Ashland Film Festival is one of 863 grant recipients from the National Endowment for the Arts, and will receive $10,000 to bolster their upcoming festival in April 2012.

The funds come from the NEA Art Works program dollars.

The AIFF's Executive Director Anne Ashbey Pierotti said the grant will enhance the Ashland festival experience.

"Aspiring filmmakers and festival fans rave about our free filmmaker panels, which grow in popularity each year," Pierotti said. "The NEA Art Works funds not only help cover filmmaker travel costs, but also offset related operating expenses so that we can continue to offer TALKbacks free to attendees, in support of our commitment to educational programming."

Total NEA grant funding capped at $22.54 million, which supported projects in 47 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
