Ashland City Band presents Norwegian music

The Ashland City Band presents its annual Norwegian Night at 7 p.m. in the Butler Band Shell in Lithia Park, Ashland.

The band will be joined by city administrator Martha Bennett and Mayor John Stromberg for a program of music from or inspired by Norway.

Selections include "Deep River Fantasy," "His Honor March," and "Norwegian Folk Rhapsody," Norway's national anthem, as well as "Concord Overture" by Ralph Hermann, "Alpine Fantasy" by Erik Leidzén and featuring horn trio Jenifer Carstensen, Cynthia Hutton and Linda Harris, "A Disney Spectular," arranged by John Moss, "Landsighting" by Edvard Grieg, "From the Homefront: Musical Memories of World War II," arranged by James Christensen, and "Pride of the Wolverines," by John Philip Sousa.

A pre-concert show by the Swing Kings starts at 6 p.m.
