Alleged car thief arrested Sunday afternoon

Medford police arrested a man suspected of stealing a car just after noon Sunday in front of Taco Bell at the corner of East Jackson Street and Riverside Avenue, police said.

Jason Robert Horn, 38, of Medford, was arrested on unauthorized use of a motor vehicle charges for stealing a white '99 Plymouth Voyager from a Central Point residence earlier in the week. A Medford police officer saw his vehicle, ran the plate, and pursued him to the Taco Bell with the assistance of additional Medford and Central Point police units.

Officers had their guns drawn when Horn exited the car before his arrest, but he came out without incident.

"You never know what else they've just committed," said Lt. Bob Hansen of Medford police.

The three other occupants in the vehicle were released without charges. Horn has been arrested on multiple theft charges before.
