Alan Bates honored as 'Statesman of the Year'

Sen. Alan Bates has been honored as 2012 Statesman of the Year by the Oregon Business Association, according to a news release.

Bates and 11 other nominees were honored as "health care revolutionaries" for their attempts of helping to improve the state's health care system. The nominees included health care CEOs, doctors and other state legislators.

The Statesman of the Year awards ceremony will be presented at the OBA Statesman Dinner, 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 at the Oregon Convention Center.
