AIDS benefits in Ashland today

AID FOR AIDS/HIV organizations takes the stage at Oregon Shakespeare Festival for the 20th time in Ashland today.

The 20th annual Daedalus Project includes a reading of “In the Continuum,” by Nikkole Salter and Danai Gurira, featuring OSF actors Gwendolyn Mulamba and Greta Oglesby and directed by Terri McMahon, at 2 p.m. in the Bowmer Theatre. The tale of two women on opposite sides of the globe dealing with their HIV-positive status was an off-Broadway hit in 2006. Tickets are $10.

From 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., local band Hamfist will entertain on the Green Show deck on the OSF bricks.

A variety show is set for 7:30 p.m. on the Elizabethan Stage with dances, songs, poetry and skits and even an underwear parade, where audience members can vote with their dollars for their favorite. Tickets cost $25 and $30.
