A band of brothers plays at Stillwater

The Wood Brothers, an acoustic folk rock and blues duo, plays at Stillwater in Ashland tonight.

Oliver and Chris Wood grew up in Boulder, Colo., then each sought independent musical careers. Oliver Wood moved to Atlanta to soak up the soul of the south and formed a band called King Johnson in honor of Freddy King and Robert Johnson. Chris Wood headed to New York to play free jazz and rock and roll and formed Medeski Martin & Wood. Now they are playing together.

The show at the Stillwater, 1951 Highway 66, Ashland, starts at 8 p.m. Cover is $5. Call the pub at 482-6113.
