'Oregon Trails: Oregon Tales'

Tom Nash, professor emeritus at Southern Oregon University, will present "Oregon Trails: Oregon Tales," a trip through the cultural heritage of Oregon, at the Medford library and at the Ashland library. Nash's brown bag talk is part of the year-long "Land of the Empire Builders" lecture series sponsored by the Southern Oregon Historical Society and Jackson County Library Services. The series is in celebration of Oregon's 150th birthday.

"Oregon Trails: Oregon Tales" will combine folklore and history, legends, myths, songs, superstitions and tales from the Oregon's six geographic regions and diverse populations.

The lectures will be at noon Wednesday, April 1, at the Medford library, 205 S. Central Ave., and April 8 at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd. Admission is free.

Nash taught English and linguistics at SOU and is an Oregon Council for the Humanities Chautauqua Scholar.
