  • LAKEVIEW — Junior post Alaina Thomson had 23 points, seven rebounds and five steals to help lift Cascade Christian past Lakeview 55-50 in overtime Wednesday in a Southern Cascade Hybrid playoff game.
The Challengers (14-10) will next play at St. Mary's in the SCH tournament championship at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Thomson scored 10 of her points in overtime after Lakeview's Liz Helling knocked down a shot with eight seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 43.
Stephanie Croy recorded 13 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and three steals and Michelle Kinney added eight points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals for Cascade Christian, which trailed 24-23 at halftime.
Croy buried a pair of free throws to put the Challengers ahead by five with about 15 seconds remaining in OT.
Delaney Hall and Darci Frederick each had 12 points for Lakeview (15-8).
The contest was originally to be played at Cascade Christian High, but the venue was changed after the Challengers unintentionally used an ineligible player in their victory over the Honkers last Tuesday. As a result, Lakeview was awarded the forfeit win and finished league play tied for second place at 5-3 with Cascade Christian. Because the Honkers had the better ranking and RPI after the change, they hosted the game.
